The Rise of 3D Smartphones in the Mobile Broadband World

When most individuals think of 3D technology they think of odd paper glasses and large theaters. While this perception may have been true in the past, 3D technology has taken one large leap forward recently. 3D smartphones are being released to the world and have become the ultimate mobile platform for entertainment.

The 3D effect can be achieved many ways, but up until recently this technology was simply impractical to put on mobile devices. Most smartphones are currently utilizing parallax barriers to develop this effect. Essentially, different images are sent to different eyes, which trick the brain into thinking there is depth on a flat screen. It has taken years to perfect these images, but they have been worth the wait.

Review : Mission3D photo 3D 303 Kit

If you enjoy creating 3D anaglyph photos with your digital camera and have been getting varied results from handheld shots or homemade tripod rigs, we have found a very slick solution. For those of you who don’t know much about 3D anaglyph photos, they are 3D images created by superimposing a pair of photos from slightly different viewing angles in red and blue, red and green or red and cyan color channels that give you a full depth 3D experience when viewed with 3D glasses. And yes, you can make your own 3D anaglyph photos using your point and shoot or DSLR camera and free software at home.
