How to remove U3 Launchpad from your USB drive

Do you have a USB drive (a.k.a. Thumb drive, Pen drive, Flash drive, USB key) with U3 installed and have no intention of ever using U3 functionality?  Do you find the U3 Installer and LaunchPad annoying? Would you like to convert your drive to a simple storage device? Look no further – this tutorial will show you a quick and painless way to remove U3 from your USB drive.

If you don’t know what U3 is, you may want to read What is U3? before proceeding!

1. Plug your U3 enabled USB drive into any available USB port.
   
   
2. Before removing U3 from your drive you should backup all your important files from your USB drive onto your computer as the U3 removal process involves formatting your drive.
   
   
3. Now, download the U3 LaunchPad Removal utility and save it to your computer.
   
   
4. Double click “U3Uninstall” to launch the removal utility.
   
5. Click “Next>”…
   
   
6. Formatting will take a few moments…
   
7. Once it’s completed, click “Done”.
