joomlaWhether you wish to load a subscription module, donation module, ad, banner, video, photo or any other type of module within your Joomla content, there are several ways to go about it. In this tutorial, we look at the most straightforward technique using the “loadposition” tag.

To begin, we need to ensure that your “Content – Load Module” plugin is enabled. This is a core Joomla extension. To verify or enable the “Content – Load Module” plugin, log into your Joomla Administrative backend and from the menu select “Extensions > Plugin Manager”.

wibiya_myblogA few months ago, we added the MyBlog component to allow members to create and post their own blogs through the site. MyBlog is an excellent pro component from Azrul and is the only true multiuser blog component I’m aware of for Joomla that integrates seamlessly with Jomsocial.

Recently, in an effort to reduce clutter on our pages and to provide more interaction for our users, we opted to implement a Web Toolbar. After much reading and comparison, we chose Wibiya as it has an excellent track record and more of the features we were looking for.

roknewspagerAny Joomla based site that hosts a fair amount of articles should have a FrontPage module to suggest articles to site guests.  There are many such modules out there but I like the way RocketTheme's RokNewsPager displays and the many configurable options it provides.  I don't like that it doesn't offer article randomization...but we're going to fix that!

joomlaThe latest release of Firefox 3 (rumors suggest all other browsers besides Internet Explorer but I’ve yet to confirm this) brought with it an unexpected issue on some sites running AJAX powered modules.

More specifically, in my case, the issue was with this very site.  Dodisdodat.com runs on Joomla and uses several third party extensions to provide users with improved functionality and useful features.  Among these extensions are jQuery, MooTools, JomSocial and a few Rockettheme modules including RokStories, RokNewsPager and RokAjaxSearch.
