How often do you find yourself on a website that requires registration to access a download or information you need and think to yourself: “Not another account!”. Often, you just need that tidbit of information or file and will likely never return to said site. Well, here’s a handy little service that will allow you to sign up using a temporary email address, actually an email alias.
How does it work? Simple! Say you are trying to access a file or information on site X but they require you to sign up. No problem! Make your way to www.tempalias.com in a new tab (press Ctrl+T to open a new tab in your browser).
Type in your real email address in the first field. This is needed so the service can route messages to your actual account inbox. Beneath the email address field, specify how long you want the alias to be valid. You can specify either a number of days or number of messages. Most registration systems work almost instantly and will send at most 3 to 5 messages, including activation links and download links. Type in your desired parameter and click “Generate Alias”.
Tempalias generates an email address for you – simply use that address to register. Confirmation and account activation messages will be routed to your inbox and your alias email will expire. Once it does, you won’t receive any more emails (spam, newsletters, etc…) from said site.
That’s all there is to it! Enjoy!
